Twenty-Ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year B
In today’s Gospel, James and John approach Jesus with a bold request: they want to sit at his right and left hand in glory. It’s a request for status and power, reflecting their human desire for recognition and honour. But Jesus quickly redirects their thinking. He reminds them that following him is not about seeking greatness in the way the world understands it. Instead, true greatness in the Kingdom of God is found in humility, service, and sacrifice.
