Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year A

The Gospel tells of a great learning moment for Jesus. He ignores the pleas of the Canaanite woman but ultimately, she forces him to recognise that salvation is available to all people who have faith. The woman’s persistence and faith pay off and despite his initial abruptness and reluctance, Jesus responds with compassion to the woman’s request.
