This Lent we will reflect on how various characters from The Passion of Christ can help us to examine our own conscience. Many of the characters in The Passion display characteristics we can easily identify and relate to personally, and it is these characteristics – some positive and praise-worthy, others less so – that we will explore throughout this program.
The Passion of Christ presents us with an assortment of characters and traits in the same way the Scriptures are full of recognisable people and situations. Often the characters and situations we encounter in the Scriptures is what allows us to connect our human experience to the Scriptures and to God, and provides us with a guiding light.
With this in mind, you’re invited to enter with courage and faith into the Passion of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ through meditation on and contemplation of the characters who were part of the Passion and death of Our Lord. May we find ourselves among the loyal friends of Jesus, those who bought comfort and consolation to His wounded and bleeding heart.
