Second Sunday of Advent, Year A
The gospel reading today presents John the Baptist as a person who does not beat around the bush. He tells everyone, “Reform your lives!” Matthew sees John’s preaching as a fulfillment of the role of Isaiah, who also talked about making a straight path for the coming of God’s kingdom.
