Mazenod College (VIC)

Mazenod College, Victoria was founded in 1967 to serve the needs of the five parishes that make up its Waverley/ Springvale region-  St Joseph's in Springvale,  St Leonard's in Glen Waverley,  Good Shepherd in Mulgrave,  St John Vianney's in Springvale North and St Peter's, Clayton.

By 1973, the College had 570 pupils.   The current student enrolment numbers more than 1,100.  Over the years increased student numbers have been accomodated by many extensions to the building facilities and an enhanced range of subjects and activities available to students.

Mazenod seeks to develop fully the intellectual, moral, creative, and physical potential of each student and seeks to instil in its students a sense of their own worth as well as a genuine respect for others of different cultural and social backgrounds.

The student population is very multi-cultural, with some 68 differing nationalities and cultures represented.

"Mazenod endeavours to equip its students with the ability to cope with a rapidly changing milieu both as regards the world of work and in the area of social response and responsibility. With this in mind we are committed to encouraging the pursuit of excellence in the intellectual, social, moral and cultural sphere for each of the students."
