Mazenod College, Victoria was founded in 1967 to serve the needs of
the five parishes that make up its Waverley/ Springvale region- St
Joseph's in Springvale, St Leonard's in Glen Waverley, Good Shepherd
in Mulgrave, St John Vianney's in Springvale North and St Peter's,
Clayton.
By 1973, the College had 570 pupils. The current student
enrolment numbers more than 1,100. Over the years increased student
numbers have been accomodated by many extensions to the building
facilities and an enhanced range of subjects and activities available
to students.
Mazenod seeks to develop fully the intellectual, moral, creative,
and physical potential of each student and seeks to instil in its
students a sense of their own worth as well as a genuine respect for
others of different cultural and social backgrounds.
The student population is very multi-cultural, with some 68 differing nationalities and cultures represented.
